Wilmotte Williams was a prolific Sydney impressionist painter who studied at East Sydney Technical College on scholarship and the Julian Art School. She later was part of the Northward Group of Lloyd Rees, Roland Wakelin, John Santry and George Lawrence. Her scenes around inner Sydney made her an iconic figure in the Sydney art scene. She was a finalist in the Wynne Prize in 1967 and a retrospective exhibition of her work was held in NSW Parliament House in 2016.
