The Management Committee is delighted to introduce you to our SRE Teacher, Matt Mulready. Matt has moved to Armidale with his wife Katrina and family to accept this appointment. His presence in Armidale’s state high school has been truly impactful, as he shares the love of God with students, staff, and the school community.
Here’s a quick hello from Matt…
While previously working as a classroom music teacher I saw the amazing opportunity to bring God’s word to teenagers in NSW public schools. Having completed a ministry apprenticeship and theological study I stopped teaching crotchets and started teaching the cross.
Since 2009 I’ve been teaching Protestant SRE (Special Religious Education), coordinating a team of volunteer teachers, training students in Christian leadership, leading an ISCF group and contributing to community life at Killara High School. More recently I’ve done a little bit of work on the new Generate Ministries SRE curriculum with Youthworks and other SRE teachers. I’m married to Katrina and we have two daughters, Nora and Greta. Katrina grew up in Cowra, trained as a speech pathologist in Albury and has worked in Sydney, both as a speech pathologist and a full time mum. Nora loves dancing, swimming and dressing up. Greta loves adventure, Peppa Pig and anything Nora is doing. I love spending time with Katrina at a coffee shop and running under the sprinkler with Nora and Greta. When I get a chance I enjoy surfing, playing basketball or playing with a band.
I am excited to be teaching SRE in Armidale to help students make an informed response to the Christian gospel.
