Armidale Youth Futures Board
Profiles of AYF Board members
Armidale Youth Futures is an incorporated body created specifically
by Armidales Ministers’ Fellowship in order to facilitate SRE teaching in Armidale’s high schools. It is administered by a Board of local Christians in accordance with its constitution.
The current board consists of:
President
Dr Robert Dewhurst BDS (Syd. Uni), Grad. Dip. Clin. Dent. (dental implants). Dr Dewhurst was born in Armidale, attending Armidale Dem School, Ben Venue and then Armidale High School from 1966 – 1971. Following HSC he completed his BDS at Sydney University, graduating in 1977. Following a period of working in the Northern Territory he returned to Armidale in 1981 and commenced dental practice here. He is married with 4 sons. He has been involved in youth ministries including ISCF youth group for most of the years he has been in Armidale.
Vice President
Mrs Barbara East Mrs East was born in Armidale being educated at Ben Venue and PLC. After completing school she became a registered nurse with midwifery training. She returned to Armidale in 1988 with her husband and four children to begin New Horizons Educational Software company now known as EdAlive. She has been leading Christian youth groups in Armidale for 15 yrs.
Secretary
Dr Philip Ward Born in Sydney, Dr Ward works as an archivist at the University of New England. Previously he has been a bookshop manager, editor and administrator of a residential college. Married with two teenage sons he has lead Christian youth groups in Sydney, Armidale and London.
Treasurer
Mr Andrew Hoholt has along connection with Armidale and currently has a accounting practise in Armidale.
Board Members
Dr Robert Baker Dr Robert Baker works at the University of New England and is a previous high school teacher, year advisor and head teacher in public schools and is currently sitting on a HSC Examination Committee.
